Im so glad to see the hard work and effort of our coaching staff pay off for a fourth straight year. Great Scouting, recruiting, and practices have turned our North Texas bball team into a winner each year. Great job guys on making us proud and running a clean program that is so very entertaining to watch. GO MEAN GREEN4 points

I'm disgusted by this whole Dr. Bataille situation. Whether we agree or disagree on matters of the athletic department, I think we can all agree that she was a great president for this university. From where I sit, she was simply a square, progressive peg trying to fit into a round, good ole' boy network of regents. I make this promise. When I receive my diploma, I'm going to find her, and demand that she sign it.3 points

I'm sitting here (in my car b/c it's freakin cold) watching the construction people move massive amounts of dirt. The progress made just to this point is impressive! I'd have never thought watching a large hole being dug could be entertaining...until now that is.2 points

This would be yet another Fantastic hire! His resume is very impressive: Greg Peterson2 points

Didn't know if alot of yall notice these things doing the game, but after the game Johnny Jones had the players go into the stands and thank the pit crew and they walked out of the arena by going through the fans to thank them, very classy move. Also during the usual shirt hand-out, a male cheerleader went up to Prez Bataille and handed her a NT shirt, I suppose a token of gratitude for being there at the game. Shortly thereafter Prez Bataille stood by the players holding the eagle claw as the band played "Glory to the Green". Overall Great Night2 points

I think what has hurt us more than anything, rpi wise, is that we lost at home to a FIU team that is currently sitting at 287, and our highest win came against Troy sitting at 146. Had we won that FIU game at home Tasty would be getting a lot more sleep these days. Rick2 points

When did all this happen? And was it in the North tunnel? I was there and saw people getting on the buses and missed it. Great win tonight. Made us sweat it out in the first half. Wished I wasn't on duty saturday night. Several of us could use a nice little warm-up road trip to Monroe. We always seem to have an interesting game there. I think the entire campus was built on an indian burial ground or something? Also, spoke with Dr. Bataille after the game. It's just a feeling I got but I don't think we have heard the last of her situation? It was great to see so many show support for her. She will be missed. Rick2 points

Huge contest. Forget about the machinations for the overall 1 seed/NIT birth. This game is in our control, and should we win - we take the Division. Winning the overall regular season is always a little hard to predict because of the unbalanced schedule(the Division schedules are as well -- just not AS unbalanced). I have said many times in previous seasons, the thing we can control is the Division. Here it is for the taking. I'm guessing this game will once again be on ESPN360. Watch for the early start time on Saturday.1 point

If you listen to Podcast #65 from Evan & Harry (by the way, nice job guys) you'll hear Rick Villareal mention that coach/coaches in the NT football ranks have been contacted about other opportunities and are electing to stay at NT.1 point

It's all in the punctuation, which I ended with a question mark. Besides the "answer" was one of those "our sources say" and I'd hardly consider that definitive. I hope Gandy stays. My point in making the post was just informational and I was actually happy that one of our coaches is being considered for decent (IMHO) position. I'll be happier if he does, indeed, decline the position to stay at North Texas.1 point

Brittany says the worst pickup line she's ever heard is "Have you got a keg in your pocket? Because I’d like to tap that!" ...I'm a bit offended, but I was REALLY drunk that night. I should apologize if I ever see her again.1 point

I was driving home from the game and heard on the radio about the 4377 attendance figure. I know its a strong good number for UNT bball on any given night. But this night was special, basically it was senior night, our 20th win, and the last chance for local people to show the team that we support them in the upcoming tourney. anything below 5,000 tonite was disappointing. We can do better1 point

The NCAA selection committee for the national championship tournament does not consider games against non-D1 teams. It is like they were not played. For purposes of determining a team's RPI games against non-D1 teams are not counted. Other NCAA stats and records include the results of such games. Sagarin does not include games against non-D1 teams but frankly as to college basketball Sagarin is irrelevant.1 point

Keith Wooden was at the game... My daughter and I said a quick hello and let him know we haven't forgotten him or his contributions... he said the Ben Bell was there too but we couldn't find him... Nice to see some of the former stars who helped revamp that UNT men's basketball, especially with their NCAA appearance, at the game tonight.... Great game too... a bit more of a nail biter than I would have liked, but a good one nonetheless. I hope that Mangrum can start to peak in his play, particularly with his 3 shot, right about now.. .we need a good spark off the bench who can put some points when we slump on offense.1 point

Best student turnout of the season... even had a few in the upper section. Thank God for that first half comeback or we would have won the gold in the Super Pit Dash.1 point

Duh. Lawsuits aren't filed on "the majority of accidents". It's the minority where there is a safety issue that wasn't addressed by the manufacturer after numerous warnings that beg attorney's attention. Are false claims filed? Yes. Want a solution? Tell them to pound sand. You treat victim's of accidents. You are not a vehicle safety expert and you don't even decide the cause of the accident. That's a job for the police. So, yes, you have no idea about the factors that caused the accident. You may have opinions, but that don't cut it.1 point

Gee, I guess I misunderstood the title of the book you were quoting. If anything has choked down the American business/inventing spirit, it is the American business/inventing spirit refusing to stand up for what is right and settling cases that have no merit simply to avoid the headache. Feed a rat cheese every day at 5, and you'll see that rat everyday at 5. Starve the rat, and the rat goes away. This is a much more complex issue than just pointing fingers at lawyers.1 point

Assistant Coach Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree and two (2) years experience combined coaching at the NFL, NCAA, or high school level required. Preferred Qualifications - Masters degree preferred; three years experience, ideally at Intercollegiate Division I level. I guess the position hasn't been posted for 17 days yet?? At any rate, I'd assume we'll have hired someone before spring practice starts. Anyone know exactly when that may be?1 point

Not to undermine the comic vibe going now, but here's a bit of serious info that bodes well for our chances on Thursday: Gradnigo expected to be out vs. North Texas. For anyone who doesn't follow the rest of the conference very closely, Chris Gradnigo is sort of like the Odufuwa/Quincy Williams to Tyren Johnson's Tramiel/Keith Wooden. Johnson carries the statistical weight and scores more points, but Gradnigo is arguably the one that makes the whole system work. Gradnigo averages 14 points, and his absence will put even more pressure on Johnson to produce and avoid foul trouble (and the guy has already been basically carrying that team on his back all year). It will also stress the Cajun bench, as they'd be stuck with only 9 available players. I believe they're under scholarship sanctions from the NCAA, and they already lost point guard Ryan McCoy (a onetime North Texas recruit who couldn't make the grades) to academic ineligibility back in January. Gradnigo hasn't practiced at all since severely bruising his back on Saturday. The writer of the article starts by saying that it will take an "overnight recovery of miraculous proportions" for Gradnigo to suit up against North Texas. Final status will be determined today. Lafayette is 1-6 on the road against SBC teams this year, and 3-10 overall. They haven't won at the Super Pit in 5 years. They're probably going to have to play without their 2nd best player, or at best, with their 2nd best player in severe pain and seriously limited. It's unfortunate that part of it relates to a guy getting hurt... But things seem to be shaping up nicely for us tomorrow night.1 point

Lets just see how supportive the gun crowd really is. I currently have in my 1 bedroom apartment nine firearms From top to bottom: Charles Daily 12guage semi-automatic- used for Skeet and Trap Miroku 12guage over/under- just given to me by my pops as a new Trap gun. Stevens Savage Arms .410- First attempt at restoration in middle school, could probably use it again. Originally my Granduncle's. Remington 550-1 .22- My most recent restoration. Originally my Grandmother's varmint killing gun. Western Auto "Revelation" .22- restored from a rusty inoperable mess. Given to me by my Grandfather the last time I ever saw him. Weihrauch HW 30 pellet rifle-Semi-restored. Originally my pops childhood bird killer. Crossman 3500 Slide Action bb gun-bought at a swap meet when I was 4. Dropped countless blackbirds(and quite a few Mocking Birds… but hey I'm colorblind!) with this baby as a kid. All without the aid of proper sights. Winchester 02-22-Kinda awaiting restoration, but not sure. Originally issued to my Great Grandfather by the Boy Scouts of America. Rock Island Arms 1911 nickel plated.45-Christmas present 2 years ago that I have very little use for. Fired on three occasions within a month of acquiring it and not once since.1 point

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/feb/26/obama-listens-at-health-summit-but-mostly-hears-fr/ what concerne me was obama ending the summit with the statement of, and i paraphrase, i don't care what you (republicans) want we are going to pass this bill and let the people decide at the polls if they like it because that what elections are for. 1. arrogance. 2. we can not pay for all the entitlements we currently have. 3. this is 17% of our economy. 4. america is currently bankrupt without this bill. on the other side if you agree or not it is constitutional if the dems go reconciliation and pass this with 51 votes. it is not like bush did not use reconciliation. if it does pass the dems will take a beating in nov. 2010 elections. unfortunately bho will be with us another 2 1/2 years.0 points

I heard this guy interviewed on Medved today who I thought had an interesting message. He's got a new book out called "Life Without Lawyers". He explains why it is that you may see a label on a baby stroller today that reads "Remove child before folding stroller", and explains how the legal system has choked down the American business/inventing spirit. Here's an 18 minute video of him. Philip K. Howard: Four ways to fix a broken legal system. Rick-1 points
