The Reggie Bush investigation might be finished by the time this kid signs his letter.4 points

This Statement slipped out of an Ouzo soaked TheTastyGreek at a resent event. TheTastyGreek said something to extent of, "Texas is full of F'ing Pickup Trucks, Cowboy Boots and beer all things which should have died in the last century, you know go the way of the Dinosaur. What this state needs is more sandals, Vespa scooters, and Ouzo." I knew I was to take to being offended, I mean son what kind of individual living in the State of Texas hates Trucks? And Beer, how in the hell can beer be a bad thing? I had never thought I would hear something that UN-AMERICAN I was so discouraged I just did not know what to think, I was wondering what is this world coming to? My poor boots, I had nothing left to say. Maybe I am old, maybe I just don't get it no more. Gather the boys and take me down to the lower 40 and just shoot me in the head. A Texas with out Beer, no sir I will not live in that Texas. The next day I woke up thinking I am not that old maybe I need find out what this BS TheTastyGreek was spouting out? Grown Men wearing sandals outside the locker room or off the beach? Not likely. To imply a Scooter over a Truck, well I knew that was out of the question as well. I mean we have all heard the Jokes about a scooter is like pick'n up a fat girl. Both are fun to ride as long as your friends don't find out. So this really left Ouzo, I got the idea this was some sort of Drink but it doesn't sound very appealing. So I looked it up here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouzo and I tell you folks it did not get much better, here is a quote from wikipedia: The only way I am going to drink a product of Lesbos, is if I am the third wheel at that party, I tell you what. Then I read more, it turns out this Ouzo product is favored by or based of something called anise, I mean holly Sh#t, thats Greek for anus I think. In the end all I know is you better watch out for this guy.2 points

Interesting take on the Tim Tebow, pro life commerical, CBS censorship boondoggle story that has popped up. I guess you can call me a bleeding heart progressive, but the guy makes some great points worth discussing.1 point

Last year they had the sections directly behind our bench sectioned off for UNT fans so we were able to all sit together. We had GA tickets and were able to sit right behind out bench for every game we played with all the other UNT fans. I would think they do it that way this year too. I do not think there is much enforcement when it comes to seating at the arena in Hot Springs, if anyone knows otherwise feel free to chime in. I did see the price difference from getting the tickets on SunbeltSports or through the NT ticket office. NT ticket office being the lesser of the two at something like 90 bucks and SunbeltSports at I think 120.1 point

And people on the right don't? I submit that the right cares more about civil liberties than the left. Freedom of Speech - the left wants to impose the "Fairness Doctrine" which would require radio station owners to devote equal time to right-wing and left-wing talk shows. That's a violation of freedom of speech. Freedom of Press - The left wing dominates TV, newspaper, magazine, and on-line news outlets. But when Fox started to take viewers away from the ABC/CBS/NBC/MSNBC/CNN networks, the left demanded that something be done to kill the Fox news network. Freedom of Religion - the ACLU defends the rights of non-Christian expression in schools and public places, but will take on every case to crush a student's or teacher's expression of their Christian faith. I'm not talking about teaching religion, I'm talking about the simple things like wearing a cross or carrying a bible or the Boy Scouts holding meeting at a public school in the evenings. The right to keep and bear arms - need we even discuss? States rights - the right wants smaller federal government and the power of states rights restored. The left believe in a powerful central government, in violation of the 9th and 10th amendments. It's not like the right wing oppose fair trials or 4th amendment protections or any other rights enumerated by the Constitution. The left, on the other hand, oppose several of these rights as I have outlined above. So how can you say you are "progressive" because you support civil liberties? If you truly supported all of the civil liberties guaranteed by our Constitution, you'd be a conservative!1 point

I think there are differences on the left just like the right. I am not a staunch liberal in every area. Don't really have the time or interest in breaking that down right now. But I do care about civil liberties. So I prefer the term progressive.1 point

Ya know, no where near enough people are pro-abortion these days. I bet it'd cut down on the hyperbolic health care discussions.1 point

I wouldn't be surprised if this kid's dad tried to talk to the head coach after every game!1 point

I think that's what my proposal would do. Of course, the "no opt out" thing always seems difficult to achieve. And, if it turned out not to be anything at all like what the legislators would like, maybe it would result in term limitations.1 point

I'm not that concerned. It should only affect the depth. Put the best on the field from whatever source...JC, transfers, recruits and gradually phase out the JC players by cutting them one or two per year. If there was a maximum of say, 50 scholarships total it would be a problem but far less with 85. Tell him to check with Troy, they seem to have about 20 jucos per year. Of course, many of them have been stashed from prior years.1 point

I understand the point you are trying to make, but this anecdotal evidence of one privileged individual actually contradicts that point and ends up being evidence in favor of the current progressive arguments for health care reform. UNTfan23 and yyz28 did a much better job of making the point and countering those arguments. The story of the Canadian Premiere really just says to me that the US is the BCS of healthcare. It's not a good example of the arguments to preserve (or more accurately, to rationally, not radically, reform) the current state of American health care system.1 point

I hope we never, ever have to hire a coach and put him through an "on-the-job" training program at the expense of the football program and the fan base.1 point

If you're the rich, white head of country you can afford any treatment you want?1 point
-
"He has gone to a renowned expert in the procedure that he needs to have done," said Ms. Dunderdale, who will become acting premier while Mr. Williams is away for three to 12 weeks. "In consultation with his own doctors, he's decided to go that route." He is mearly making the decision to go get treated by the best and most skilled Dr. to treat his particular condition. The way I read it, he would have gone to India if the best person/Dr/expert HAPPENED TO BE THERE. There is a big difference in the skill of a particular Dr. and the health care SYSTEM he or she works in. The issue is our HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. Which causes many Americans to go to such places as India to get their proceedures/operations....BECAUSE THEY CANNOT AFFORD IT IN THE AMERICAN SYSTEM.....WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SKILL OF OUR DR'S. geezzz1 point

No, this guy is either uninformed or intentionally misleading. CBS, being way left of middle America, very reluctantly agreed to take the Tebow ad, and has been begging liberal and pro-abortion groups to run some kind of ad to counter it. But this "mancrunch.com" ad was way over the line. No network, probably not even Fox, is going to air that kind of trash during the Super Bowl. CBS learned a lesson in that vein the hard way. And in all likelihood, mancrush knew CBS would not take their ad. But they get all kinds of free publicity anyway, without having to pay the $2 million per slot, or however much it is now.0 points

Well that's relief. I can sleep better now knowing that we're even with UTSA on top 100 signees. Next think you know we might actually get some d-linemen........large, fast, and mean d-linemen.0 points

I noticed in the Star Telegram, that UTSA convinced a ST top 100 RB (Chris Johnson, from SA East Central) that they have a pretty good plan. Strange, but I couldn't find any top 100 players that NT had convinced to make a committment to our program.-1 points

They can talk about going I-A all they want.... until the NCAA lifts the moratorium, they're not budging. *IF* the NCAA unfreezes divisional moves, you can bet they will keep a tight leash and raise the requirements to make the move up. There are many FCS schools that want to move up, not just UTSA and TSU.-1 points

And I got it straight from RV, the north end zone is a wing. He even said they want to name that section and make it special.-1 points

I think it is simply one example. Especially when this administration has done everything in it's power to convince the American public that the system is broken, when most know, it is not. It needs reform. But it's not the absolute disaster that these hired drones below would have you believe. Rick-1 points

What I'd like to hear & see both coodinators able to mentor Coach Dodge. In talking to Gary, he's never meet a more positive coach in coach Dodge in his life. Then, we go for a field goal in the closing minutes of the Ohio game to just tie the thing up while sitting on the .5 yard line? I'm not following the reason for not going for the win if he's so positive. That started our down fall this year. We all hope next season is a real winning season, but its important the coaches & players prepare now for it.now. \-1 points
