Drex, if that's Charlie Smith he played for Hayden, Jerry Moore, and Bob Tyler. His last year was 1981 which was the year before our drop to 1-AA. His dad had played at Auburn but adopted us while Charlie was playing and would come to every football-related function that we had. Their son Tanner is a tight end on the current squad.

Still must be tough as nails to be wearing that many layers of clothing.

My friend has the same jacket from the late 70s. It was worn Saturday as well. It even has a Hayden Fry signature on the inside. Joe Greene was asked to sign but declined. Fun stuff.

I would be all for a Mean Green 100 club forming again. Wasn't something like this started by TCU at the beginning of their turnaround some 15 years ago? Being TCU, I'm sure the donation to join far exceeded $1,000.

I like the idea. Sadly, when I look at the book, it'll be a loooong time before I'm anywhere near the top 100 donors. I'd like to see a LOT more people donating at my level (which isn't in any way exorbitant). Seems we keep trying to wring more and more out of the same five people year after year. More butts in seats, more mid-level donors.

And give me one of those blazers, cuz, dude. Those are sweet.

So does that mean his blazer is 40 years old? Or have there been replicas made since?

That is me, walking with my wife of 31 years Lisa, who is also a Mean Green grad. The reason we were doing the walk was that Lisa had won a package at Ladies football clinic that included getting to take part in the Mean Green walk. Since Tanner started playing, my parents, Lisa and I have attended every home and away game!

That coat is 40 years old and has been hanging in my closest waiting for the perfect time to make an appearence. I had a blast wearing it, although that 100% polyester got a little hot. Thanks for remembering me and my parents.

That was indeed the perfect time. Between FFR's helmet, Mr. Smith's blazer, and of course the players' helmets, the Flying Worm had a great comeback on Saturday.

You guys are all so awesome. Even though it was "only" Idaho, this was the game I wanted to be there for the most this year and really hate that I missed it. At least you all know my heart is always there. So glad to see the family legacies going strong. My son wants to enroll in TAMS in about 10 years
