Ah.. interesting... it's hard for someone like me to visualize because I wasn't here when the hotel was, but it looks like it will be a snug fit between the service road and the hill..

I really like how you can see Apogee well from the highway, I hope the new hotel won't interfere with that

Maybe I've missed it since I haven't been following this project too closely, but would this project go where Fouts currently is, or over by Apogee? AFAIK the last Master Plan from the University had a parking garage and additional residents halls where Fouts is... of course, that Master Plan is about 8 years old now, and things often change.

It will be where the last hotel was on the Apogee side, adjoining The Hill and the I-35 frontage road.

As to the Master Plan, I would not trust anything from the 2005 version; couple of administrations prior, system's mindset has changed, etc. BUT! The Master Plan is getting a makeover right now as I type and the 2012 model will be done in December.

This should time out at just about the time all my remaining college friends are gone, aka when my couch surfing friends no longer go to UNT.

It will make for a great place to stay over game weekends!

I'm so excited about this! Especially because it'll probably tie in to the Hospitality program somehow.

Stayed in the Hilton on UH campus last week. It is affiliated with the UH hospitality program and was a great hotel.

I see the finish date is summer 2014, so that probably means we will be halfway through the 2014 home schedule before the actual open date occurs...
