If Boise, AFA, SDSU and Hawaii all leave, or if Boise and any other three leave for that matter, the MWC would be down to six for football and IMO should then immediately offer SJSU, USU, UNT and/or UTSA. I'd say there's a fair chance that is exactly what will occur after the first of the year.

It would be a far flung conference but Wyoming, UNM, Colorado State still bring more butts than ULL, FAU and other belt schools.

I guess I should be happy, but I still find it a little embarrassing being mentioned in the same breath as UTSA.

Some of that is right, but I'm pretty sure ULL brings a bigger crowd that Wyoming. And I'd MUCH rather go to Lafayette.

I think I'd take a different approach and say what an honor it is for UTSA to be mentioned with the rest of those schools.

I can see your point, but playing every other year in San Antonio will do more for us recruiting wise than playing in Miami every year has done.

I am not sure I like the looks of that conference if that happens. I would much rather be in CUSA and play Tulsa, UTEP, Rice, and others.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but I agree with Glick. Hell hath frozen over.

When I saw this thread title, I was really hoping it was the Board of Directors or something that mentioned us....not a message board.

True, but if we get a MWC invite and there is even a shred of doubt that a CUSA invite is coming, we take the MWC invite immediately...I hope.

Who is it that you want to play ? And who in the MWC is going to get our fans more excited than Middle or UL Monroe ?

Someone on the CUSA board pointed out the new MTW isn't really the old WAC. it's close to the old Big West plus Wyoming and Hawaii.

I'd much prefer CUSA To a return to the Big West.

If not C-USA then stay in the belt.

Two things I take away from these forums:

1) SDSU fans seem to have an unhealthy hatred for us.

2) Mean Green Gem is trying WAY too hard.

There are teams in the Lone Star Conference that I'd rather play than UL Monroe or MT.

I would prefer cUSA but if the MWC is the only way out of the sbc, then sign me up.

God bless Texas!

This is sarcasm right? Just in case you are serious, the answer to your question is:

New Mexico

UTEP (possibly to MWC)

Wyoming

Colorado State

Utah State

Nevada

UNLV

San Diego State

Etc...

Mean Green Gem does seem to take a page from the Plumm Mean Green School of Brevity.

Can we all agree that we are ready to get out of the Belt?

Not quite yet. Two weeks until the Thanksgiving turkey. Then I'm totally ready to get out of my belt and my pants.

No thanks. Outside of CUSA I'd just assume we hang out in the belt for the time being.

This whole realignment mess is because of one thing - TV money. We currently get 0, zilch from the Sun Belt TV deal. While some here aren't fired up about the MWC, at least their schools receive TV revenue and every football game is on national TV.

Even if the new MWC isn't your favorite, it's a shorter jump up to a big conference from the MWC than it is from the Belt.
