Loving it! I know the hat they should use and I will post a picture later. Solid green with black and white interlocking NT.

David Anderson, an avid booster who along with his wife Julie, have made long term financial committments to to athletic department, came to North Texas to play baseball for our last team. He either played catcher or was the bat boy,I forget which.

I believe he played center field and visiting beer swilling scrub in the face of no-name coach Gene Stephenson for a D2 school up in Oklahoma before transferring to UNT and redshirting their final year of existence.

About damn time. Bring baseball back, and I may be moving back to Denton.

Harry...we have a baseball thread. This seems to be a perfect fit. But since we have it in the football thread, let's start a uniform poll.....or let's discuss why the coach can't recruit local players.

Or, maybe we could just move this to the baseball thread.....

Good stuff here....I thought it was BECAUSE David Anderson transferred to UNT that the program was cancelled? HeHe!

I can't wait till the first pitch misses for ball one and the message board erupts calling for the coachs head and saying the players dont care.

POST OF THE DAY! GREATNESS!!!! OR...that the coach cannot coach at all since his player missed the plate...you know, because the coach throws the ball and all that. Greatness, smooth....you devil you!:thumbsu:

I loved having NT baseball games to see after I graduated, and actually went to quite a few games while I was at NT (we were a club sport then, I think).

In lieu of no baseball, I have become an avid fan of NT softball. Really enjoy the sport and it is fun watching an NT team that appears to be truly enjoying its sport.

But I have to ask one question, with a tad bit of editorial comment, offered with complete candor and sincerity:

I am not convinced the athletic department, the school and the city have any real interest in putting WINNING programs on the field (the players and coaches might...my viewpoint is that the university community historically hasn't provided the support, the "whatever it takes" resources to win). So why would we want to UNDER-fund another sport?

And believe me...I WANT North Texas to have a baseball program. I just don't think NORTH TEXAS wants an athletic program.

BTW, the picture at the head of this thread...now THAT is a throwback jersey I would love to have...collared!

I believe it will be 2800 seats with the first pitch in 2015...if funding continues.

Based upon nothing other than blind hope, I was hoping we'd hear an announcement at the spring game. Nope. No idea.

C Dan pretty much made it official during his speech at the Hall of Fame Luncheon but did not provide particulars.
