As TM keeps picking up Conference player of the week awards like they're participation trophies, I started to wonder, does Tony end up as the Sun Belt Play of the Year, even after sitting out in December?

Only second player in conference history to win it 3 times in a row. Only player to win it multiple times all year.

If he had played in at least 75% of the games, he'd be leading the conference in scoring at 15.5, rebounding at 9.4, field goal percentage & 3 point field goal percentage.

His 3 point percentage is higher than anyone else's field goal percentage.

Special times at the Super Pit....

Yes. It's covers conference player of the year, not OOC player of the year.

Still a lot of basketball to be played though.

But it will be hard not to think about, as TM becomes the MAIN SHOW for NT for the remainder of the season.

IF we make a deeP run in the conference tournament, TM is a no-brained pick for POY. He will be the reason for that run.

Not 100%, but I think POY and all-conference get announced pre-tournament.

I seem to recall already knowing Bozeman was the POY last year even as we were playing games in Hot Springs.

If that's the case, TM should get it if we finish in the top 2 in the west

Very good. Very nice. Now, how many POTW does that make for you Tony?

That makes a baker's dozen for me.

I think you're right. Tournament MVP was the only award handed out after the conference tourney.

Tony will be the POY just as I projected after his first NT game. It does not matter what the team does. Bozeman was POY of the Belt on a middle of the pack UALR team. The award is given before the tournament. There is no comparison between Bozeman and Mitchell and based on what I have seen and the conference statistics; no one is close to Tony in the conference.

If Mitchell reamains healty, I don't see anyway he is not the POY.
