With Harry's blessing, I'm making this thing its own thread. We've been talking for quite some time over on the "No more heckling" thread about ways to put loud fans in the section that Conference USA has deemed can no longer be allocated as student seating.

We've set up a campaign to raise at minimum, $10,000, maxing out at $24,000 because that would be the entire section. I set the minimum at $10,000 because honestly, for fewer than 100 seats, this isn't going to have the desired effect.

So if the campaign doesn't meet the minimum goal, nobody's card gets charged, we all take our balls and go home, no harm, no foul.

If the campaign reaches $10,000, I will collect the money via crowdtilt and purchase the tickets through the recent alumni program via Eddie Delgado.

I will assume no responsibility for ticket distribution. Christopher Walker has (by nomination) volunteered to be master distributor of tickets. I figure, he's young, he's got the connections, he lives in Denton, and his beard is glorious. What could possibly go wrong there?

The campaign is set to end mid-day on July 27th. We've got 29 days, ladies and gentlemen. Lets fill apogee and keep our little home field advantage alive and well!

So what is the consensus if this doesn't tilt? Do some of you want to still donate and buy a couple of recent grad seats to help out?

The consensus from us running it is that we are not going to solicit anyone to do so.

Though! I know of others off this forum who have or are planning to buy their own seats in the section from our advertisement of it elsewhere.

Barring an unforseen miracle, this thing isn't gonna tilt. It has, however greatly increased awareness of this section of seats, all over Facebook, here on GMG.com, and now in the DRC.

If a number of people go buy their own seats in this section because they found out about it from this little exercise, then I'm happy with the results.

I will not push anyone to cough up a pledge that they were told, in writing, from the beginning, wouldn't happen unless we reached a certain goal.

Apogee (especially the student section) is going to rock this season either way. With the winning from last year and all the new freshman coming in, I can't wait to be at game day and looking across the stadium at the greatness of our students.

#UNT18 is pumped! The energy in there vs. SMU will be so electric that they'll be hooked. Great first game for these new young Mean Green fans.
