After the FIU debacle to open the season, Coach McCarney said, "No excuses from anyone."

And, so we've held him to that...many of us have. Injuries. Lack of depth. Youth. Any of these excuses could have been used this year at any given time for North Texas.

We will look back at this win and say, though, here was a North Texas team who had every reason to pack it in, quit, and use those excuses to finish out the season with a wimper, and start flying the "next season/rebuilding" banner.

But, you know what...they didn't!

The coaches didn't. The players didn't. And, now, we the fans, can't. If you've got season tickets, you've really got no excuse, outside of family emergency, not to go support these guys against WKU and Middle Tennessee.

Four wins. Many people around the country will look at our lack of depth, youth, and injuries, and say Dan McCarney is working a miracle just to get to four. But, that's not true. Remember, this is the guy who after being blown out said, "No excuses." He's just keeping his promise to us.

Damn right, no excuses. And, that attitude seems to have finally caught on with this team. They're now seeing the ball, being the ball, Danny. Let's go out and support them next Saturday with our friends, neighbors, enemies, and strangers. Let's get them into Apogee and give the team a "No Excuses" attitude from the bleachers.

Few people around the country look at us, and the ones that do don't look past the won loss record.

Winning these last 2 home games is huge for this program with all the conference shifting that will happen in the upcoming off-season. 6-6 might be enough for people to stop pointing and laughing at the football program. Perception is important, and we need to start changing it.

We also have to consider that 4 of our losses have come against top 34 teams in the USA Today Poll, and the other two losses were against pretty tough opponents in FIU and LALA. We really haven't done too badly, but now it's time for our first big upset this year. Seems strange to call WKU a big upset, but I guess it kind of will be. At least in some people's minds.

Upset ? Howell has the Mean Green as a 2 point favorite.

Apparently Thurston and Vegas have a difference of opinion, because it looks like Vegas has WKU by 3. For what it's worth, we'll see if that changes, and any "possible" LD health reports will likely be a factor going forward.
