UT-San Antonio quarterback commitment Blake Bogenschutz threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns Friday, rushing for 100 yards, in securing Carthage's first state title since 2010, its fourth in six years. Terian Goree, pledged to North Texas, reeled in 51 of those yards on just three catches, rushing for two more scores.

With his playoff run, Goree has recently caught the attention of a few Big 12 programs, including Texas and Texas Tech. This said, he affirmed Friday he is "Mean Green all the way."

Tee you are making a wise choice. Texas and Tech are not going to offer you playing time right away. We can't wait to see you in green next year.

Finished the season with 89 catches, over 1700 yards, 30 offensive touchdowns, and 6 picks, and a state championship.

Oh yeah, and the best part? He'll be wearing green and white the next game he plays.

Because he has pride in himself obviously.

My qyestion to UT would be "Where were you all this time that North Texas stuck with me? Do I really strike you as sloppy seconds?"

High character, integrity, enthusiasm, and the desire to make history doing something that has not been done before are some of the intangibles that our family of coaches look for in recruiting talented players. Tee Goree exemplifies these attributes. Mean Green All The Way!

I'm sure he'll be at the HOD Bowl game! Just another reason to be in a bowl game that is so close to home, great for recruiting! Great news

If a couple of big 12 schools offer Will he get a recruiting grade bump?

He's a 3-star on 247, Rivals, and Scout. He isn't rated on ESPN but if they had evaluated his film he would be on there as well.

Goree does have one more chance at getting exposure. He will be at the offense-defense all American bowl in Orlando. Most recruits in that game are big time Big 12, ACC, and SEC recruits. Good exposure and chance to compete for Goree.

For those of you who watched the Carthage title game: Did their QB, who commited to UTSA, remind you of a former UNT QB?

Dodge the Younger?

He is small and quick, but lacks a strong arm. He's good at the high school level, but can he take the pounding at the college level?

"Only institutional staff members are permitted to recruit prospective student-athletes. Generally, NCAA rules prohibit anyone else from contacting (calling, writing or in-person contact) prospects or the prospects relatives or guardian for recruiting purposes."

You won't make any friends by creating a situation where Goree can't come here. Don't squirrel with this. Students aren't exempt.
