Dodge said Riley, his son, would start there in the fall. He is slated to graduate from McNeese State this spring, where he transferred after previously attending North Texas.
Riley threw for 4,184 yards 54 touchdowns in 2006, his lone season as the Dragons' starting quarterback. The team went 16-0 and won the 5A state championship.

1) I'll show up at Apogee whether we're playing Texas Southern, LSU, Sunbelt, Alliance, or Denton High.
2) As long as there are bats, gloves, and baseballs involved, I could not care less about the logo on the cap. And for that matter, nor could I not care less about the helmets in football. We're sports fans, not metrosexual fashionistas for Lord's sake!
3) Rick Villareal has been good for UNT. Period.
4) That said, we all make mistakes, and I will hold a lifelong grudge against Todd Dodge and his vaunted football system.
5) Basketball is not my sport. I don't enjoy it. But watching Tony Mitchell play. Well, a beautiful athlete is a beautiful athlete, and Tony is a work of art in motion.
6) I have experienced no problems with parking or tailgating at Apogee, and the walk ain't gonna kill us, tubby.
7) If I found a hundred dollar bill on the ground, I would buy a twelve-pack of 120 minute Dogfish Head IPA and a couple cigars of dubious origin. Somehow, I think this would work regardless of whether the bill was wrinkled or freshly ironed with starch.
8) I loved hanging out in Denton. Potheads and all. It's a great little town.
9) UNT provided me with an education that got me gainfully employed right out the door, and for that I will always be grateful.

i adjusted Lance's times by .03 (so his 40 was 4.5, 3 cone was 6.83, etc.) to account for human error since these were hand times and the combine is electronic and of those who participated...
- 6 had better 40's
- 11 had better verticals
- 1 had a better broad
- 1 had a better 3 cone
- 2 had a better pro agility or 20 yd shuttle
- 2 had a better 60 yd shuttle
very solid! plus, i watched each day of the combines on the nfl network this year and will put Lance's hands up against any of the rb's. blocking will be what hurts him and that can be coached.
on a side note, the only rb to continually out perform Lance in the speed drils was Chris Rainey from Florida.

Next year's team can be a cornerstone to build on. WKU and others will be much better than this year, frankly if JJ can't beat them with the squad he may have next year, than I see a bad trend developing. Look at WKU who won primarily because their freshmen came on at the end of the year, J. Williams and Jones IMO are as good as any of their freshmen and there is no one in the league as good as Mitchell. I find posts relative to NT being competitive with WKU, ULL next year as maybe realistic based on NT's performance the last two years, but I hope and think this team should aim a lot higher.
JJ has build the team up from the Trilli ashes, and got the program to a level it has not ever consistently been. He has been successful taking mostly under recruited players and getting them to play team ball and he has elevated the program to be one of the better Belt programs. He has taken the next step in recruiting last year, can he move the team up to match the talent he has assembled?

I also penciled him in ahead of Alzee because I don't like a point guard tandem of Chris Jones and Alzee Williams together. We need to open things up for Mitchell, Odoh & Patton. Hearing a Dallas area kid (impact player) maybe be looking to come home due to a lack of playing time and being home sick. This kid would be a major impact player for us.. Has not officially asked for or been granted his release.
Looks like Kimball is up at halftime in Austin, If they win, I'm off to see Overlander (Argyle), Kimball & FM Marcus Saturday bring home the gold!

Sept. 8 -- Texas Southern (Win)
Sept. 15 -- at Kansas State (Loss)
Sept. 22 -- Troy* (Win)
Sept. 29 -- at Florida Atlantic* (Win)
Oct. 6 -- at Houston Win (only with everyone healthy)
Oct. 16 -- Louisiana-Lafayette* (Loss)
Oct. 27 -- at Middle Tennessee* (Win)
Nov. 3 -- Arkansas State* (Homecoming) (Loss)
Nov. 10 -- South Alabama* (Win)
Nov. 17 -- at Louisiana-Monroe* (Win)
Nov. 24 -- at Western Kentucky* (Loss)
Going with 7-5 and that puts us at 6 FBS wins and hence bowl eligible. Say we do lose Houston... we could still beat either WKU or maybe even Ark St. to offset the FBS loss.
