Here are the C-USA numbers for 2014:
Conference USA average attendance
Texas-El Paso, 28,377
Texas-San Antonio, 27,576
Marshall, 27,461
Southern Miss, 22,739
Alabama-Birmingham, 21,841
Old Dominion, 20,118
Louisiana Tech, 20,054
North Texas, 19,271
Rice, 18,562
Middle Tennessee, 17,408
Western Kentucky, 16,306
Florida Atlantic, 14,122
UNC Charlotte, 13,272
Florida International, 11,966
So we were #8 out of 13.  I do not realistically see us moving past UTEP, Marshall or UTSA.  I do think we could and should move up this year and honestly there is no reason why we could not be #4.
I think our standing in this is VERY important and something that needs to be focused on.

TYLER (KYTX) - A future professional indoor football team held a combine Saturday and Sunday at Trinity Mother Francis Rose Stadium in Tyler. The Pineywood Bucks will play in Henderson at the Rusk County Youth Expo Center starting in March of 2016.
The Bucks are a part of the North American Indoor Football Association (NAIF), a sixteen-team arena-football type league. Bucks owner Mike Dixon said he was looking into a couple different locations in Texas, but Henderson made the most sense.
Henderson native Daniel Prior was also at the combine and wants to make the team come March. Prior went to the University of North Texas, where he played tight end for the football team. Prior now wants to play linebacker for the Bucks. Even though his last football game was UNT's Heart of Dallas Bowl on January 1, 2014, Prior said he's ready to play at the next level.
"I've been out for a little bit over a year, and I've stayed in shape, at least I've tried to," Prior said. "I think it'd definitely be special to be here in my hometown. I'm living here now and to keep playing football is a dream of mine."
About 40 to 50 players came out to the combine Saturday and Sunday. Coach Hill said the Bucks will hold more combines before they decide who will make the team. To learn more about the association, you can visit naifnation.com.

GMG Opine: SMU QB's

By Harry, in GoMeanGreen.com,

SMU QB Neal Burcham will not play in this years UNT game.
As a Mean Green fan that could be bad news.  Burcham was not the most mobile QB UNT faced last season and that combined with a pretty shoddy o-line and game planning by former head coach June Jones let UNT's defense really tee up in a 43-6 whipping.  Evidently Burcham injured his shoulder enough to keep him out this entire season due to surgery.
New HC Chad Morris seems to have things headed in the right direction and right now it appears his QB will be Texas A&M transfer Matt Davis.  UNT saw a little of Davis in last years game, although he clearly carried a dumbed-down playbook and frankly seemed lost at times.  He only completed one pass and seemed to be running for his life most of the time he was in there.
Mark my words, Davis will be a better player this year.  He has really good speed and a pretty decent arm.  With a spring and summer under his belt he should know the playbook.  UNT has not fared very well against dual threat quarterbacks in the last couple of years.  Eric Sosa at UTSA comes to immediate mind.  Containing Davis will be no easy task.
Another name to keep in mind is true freshman Ben Hicks (6-2, 197) who Morris signed out of Waco.  Hicks will be green, but is one of the highest ranked prospects SMU has signed at the QB position in some time as he was an Elite 11 nominee in high school.

It's that exciting time of year, when many students are preparing to arrive in Denton and the University of North Texas.

UNT students seem to be getting more athletic friendly every year that goes by and 2015 is no exception.  There is a lot of excitement in social media and other places about the coming game against SMU.
The SMU game is actually in Dallas at Ford Stadium on SMU's campus, but UNT fans hope to have a good showing.  It should be a very good atmosphere for the game.
Still with about two month before the kickoff there is a lot of time for the anticipation of this game to build.
It should be fun.
