That picture tells me just how spoiled we are now. Without context of that being the historic Cotton Bowl, just looking at the face value, I look at that picture and think, "Man, that place looks like a dump compared to Apogee!"

This will be the first time I've been inside the stadium. I've only ever seen it from the outside. Kinda excited to go sit in such an old place with so many historic ghosts trotting around the field.

I wonder if KING DL could get special clearance from DFW/LOVE and fly over and get a great photo from above ?

At your (and my) age, you'd better be careful about wishing for your heart to be still.

Is it still a grass field? Or is it synthetic?

I believe it's still grass. I haven't been inside the Cotton Bowl since the late '70's to watch Houston-SMU with my church youth group. Can't wait for Wednesday to get here, GMG!

I don't think clearance for fair park is much of a problem, its barely in Bravo Airspace.

The forecast now calls for 65 degrees. My, my, this is shaping up well.

You flying in?

I am already here...spent 31 hours on the Greyhound with 2 transfers. I wasn't sure with work until Friday night and by then it was too late to get a decent flight price.

Dedication.

If we win, it'll be worth it. If we lose...maybe not. :)

The question must be answered. Los Angeles greyhound station or Dallas greyhound station? Which one impressed you more?

 I think I give the nod to LA by a hair. Phoenix had the nicest one.

I took the bus from LA to Vegas once to see how it was. I...get this...LEFT MY CAR IN THE GREYHOUND PARKING LOT OVER THE WEEKEND!

I was a brave (read: stupid) young man. When I got back, I was happy to see my car was still there, all its hubcaps and side view mirrors still intact.

As for the bus experience itself, the driver went off on this tyrannical rant over the loud speaker as we pulled out of the parking lot about how he would leave passengers stranded in the desert if they were caught drinking or smoking on the bus. As soon as we hit Interstate 10, out come the dip cans and forties. But unlike the ever raucous bar car on AmTrak (which once upon a time ran from Union Station to Vegas, and oh lawdy), the bus was as quiet as a church mouse. I did enjoy not having to navigate the 15, especially while still hung over on the return trip.

But I never parked my car at the LA greyhound station again.
