last year's best recruit in the nation...

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Jadeveon-Clowney-90885

Clowney 4.65...Brad Horton 4.7

Clowney 6'6"...Brad Horton 6'6"

Clowney 247...Brad Horton 240

I see very little difference here...

Welcome Brad! No pressure or anything, but you aren't far from Clowney's specs...Now get you some QB's and tackles for loss!

Before I get railed on, it was just a fun comparison. Clowney just came to mind cause I remembered he was a 6'6" DE that ran just under a 4.7... and they made a HUGE deal out of him signing late and picking south carolina over about, what 20 offers? maybe more? Anyways, fun stuff.

Awesome. Welcome aboard Brad and the Horton family! Glad to see a Liberty Warrior come to NT (their football coaching staff is loaded with alums, NT letterman, and a few ex NT coaches/GA's).

When a kid is offered by 2 service academies....that sums it up!!!! Great Kid! It's fun to "Experience The New Mean Green"!

Just an FYi, but there's some Boone at Pilot Point in Brad's highlight tape. I think Horton screams tremendous upside and really believes that if there's a coach in America who can develop him into a good defensive lineman it's Coach Mac.

There is no way, I mean NO way Horton runs anywhere near the same 40 time as Clowney. It has to be inflated. Just watch the game film. Horton looks lanky, awkward, and a tad slow. The difference is Clowney's 40 time was clocked at a Nike camp whereas we're taking Horton's coach/parent's word on it. I'd say he runs closer to 4.9.
