from the article:

The College of Music will receive $10 million:

$5 million for endowed professorships and chairs in music

$3 million to fund touring and recording opportunities for students

$2 million for highly sought-after, competitive scholarships in music

The College of Engineering will receive $6.5 million:

$5 million to create the Charn Uswachoke Center for Energy Efficient Materials, a center that will help UNT and its materials science and engineering department become a leader in energy-related materials research.

$1.5 million to create an endowed professorship in materials science and engineering to attract a top researcher to head the center.

The College of Business will receive $5.5 million:

$5 million to fund the Charn Uswachoke Scholarships for Study Abroad for undergraduate and MBA students

$500,000 to establish the Charn Uswachoke Graduate Suite in the new Business Leadership Building

It should also be noted that in the article it states that "Some of Uswachoke's pledged gift dollars are expected to qualify for matching funds under the state's program to help emerging research universities, such as UNT, become national research universities, which would further boost the impact of his pledge."

From the bottom of our hearts.... we the Mean Green Nation thank you so much Mr. Uswachoke! It's a great day to be part of the UNT Family and Go Mean Green!

, and understand that it is ran by a bunch of kids, but they did everything they could to derail tha stadium

Dont forget there was plenty of anti stadium sentiment being thrown around by the Journalism Dept at that time that no doubt found it's way into the daily.

I'll never forget that sorry lot and the anti growth, anti athletic agenda they pushed.

Fantastic! What a month and it's only half way through. Hope this causes some of our famous music school alumni take note and step up to the plate themselves. Great news.

Fantastic donation Charn! It comes at a very fortuitous time and focuses on the students and research.

So great to see the pride for UNT coming out here instead of the usual and personal complaints that often don't mean much at all in the scheme of things. Perhaps this is what has been needed to rally the Mean Green faithful to actually unite behind the school and the athletic department and really find ways to be positive in moving the program forward, in being part of the solution and not part of the problem, in speaking highly about UNT in public, etc. For those who did not believe that "good things were happening for UNT" this last week or so should really turn the tide and prove that indeed, this is a great time to be a member of the Mean Green Nation.

I welcome each and every "bandwagon" hopper-on, and have to think they will now stay on that bandwagon with the rest of us. If you are not excited about YOUR university now, I really don't think there is much hope for you. Let's keep this momentum going...if you have not already done so:

BUY SEASON TICKETS!

JOIN THE MEAN GREEN CLUB!

JOIN THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION - SUPPORT THE PAVILION PROJECT!

DONATE TO YOUR ACADEMIC AREA!

WEAR MEAN GREEN COLORS!

TELL EVERYONE YOU SEE ABOUT THE GREATNESS THAT IS UNT!

WHY NOT NORTHJ TEXAS INDEED! GO MEAN GREEN!

That's awesome! Good things are happening in Denton these days!

That being said I wish the athletic department would of received a little love, but it's hard to complain about that gift. I believe certain colleges donate/support more than others do and I think the school of business is one of those schools. So, I consider this an indirect gift to the athletic department.

Go mean green!

So I wonder which Mean Green Club Representative has Thailand in their district.

;)
