From a Mean Green Alum and Fan who reads the site:

"Kerrick Rhone is Mike (and Stacy) Rhone's son. Mike started out as a QB for Corky Nelson but then moved to safety after a couple of years. I think he made an all conference team one year. Stacy is an alum too."

Welcome to the Mean Green Family Kerrick!

Mike was a great HS quarterback out of Austin Reagan. Never understood why they didn't give him a shot at QB

He started in 84 and 85. His 85 stats were 90att., 30comp, 2tds, 487yrds. He also had 294 yards rushing. Bron Beal took over in 86.

He was given ample opportunity to make it as a QB. He was a good runner but a terrible passer......even by NT standards.

Hudson, a junior from Hominy, will often be responsible for taking North Texas State's "pitch man" Saturday night when the Eagles run an option veer play. If NTSU quarterback Mike Rhone doesn't hand off to fullback Monty Moon and if he doesn't keep it himself, he will probably pitch the ball to halfback Billy Brewer circling toward the sideline.

Ahhh, the Brewer brothers, Carl and Billy, #'s 20 &21 on your program......from New Boston Texas.

Probably because he was a Reagan Raider. BOOM!

(I graduated from rival Austin LBJ)
