Fox News: North Texas listed as Top Mid Major Program

NORTH TEXAS - Middle Tennessee showed last season that the Sun Belt has talent as it ran through its non-conference slate before being upset in the conference tournament.The Mean Green are going to be favorites in the SBC next season primarily due to their star forward and former top 100 recruit, Tony Mitchell. North Texas finished just one game short of the Big Dance last season. New head coach Tony Benford will have the task of leading North Texas and his star sophomore to the NCAA Tournament before the program joins the Conference USA.

Shhh! As far as most people know, that's all Tony is.... No need to correct anyone now. I'm sure Tony will make himself known as more than just a "former top 100 recruit".

Now back to sports... It is good to see this. I am ready to see the Mean Green in action this year. Football should be better and should have a great year in basketball.

Not so bad, coming from a Mid-Major sports outlet like Fox.

Since Fox News is usually the highest rated news channel and therefore the national champ year after year, does this mean that UNT has a shot at the title game :-)

I hope the mid-major program statement won't stick for ever!! Our president said the sky is our limit so we'all want North Texas to be mentioned with top programs in nation in the near future!! agree?
