Final Thoughts:
Another Winnable Road Game = Another Disappointing LOSS
After watching the Tulane debacle I couldn’t help but wonder to myself when exactly are the Mean Green going to come away with a road victory?
They just gave that game away like they were some sort of charity. I sat in reflection all weekend long wondering how I would put down my thoughts on this game. Should I be really critical? Should I remain positive? Should I try and offer moral support? Well I think the time has come to be critical and very critical. Why, because what happened on Saturday was not simply good enough. It was not good enough for the fans, the university, the alumni, the students, the players, or the coaches. It was a complete disgrace to us all. North Texas is better than that, 10 times better than that. Let me just say that UNT just lost to one of the worst offensive teams I have ever watched. North Texas is 14 points better than Tulane and they somehow managed to give that back in only a way that UNT could. You can’t simply expect to go on the road and hope to win on talent alone. We don’t have enough talent to win on talent alone. You have to execute and out coach your opponents. That is something that UNT has shown it can’t do. Sure they play hard and never give up. They know how to take a body blow just like Rocky would, and they know how to fight back, but they don’t know how to land the knockout punch. UNT has a lot to figure out this week and it starts with looking themselves in the mirror and asking if they are really up to the task of turning this program around.
