So this guy is big, can rebound and block shots. He does not appear to be a scorer. Looks like they want to have him split time with Coleman down low. Makes sense.

I would hope he is good enough to take minutes away from Coleman , not split them.

He may be good enough now to take minutes away from Coleman, but give Benford one fall camp, and he will bring Gaines down to Coleman's level.

Ya, except that he never started in the big east.

I actually like Egi better than Gaines based on what little I know of them. Being on a BE squad means little if you don't play. Egi appears to have some offensive game unlike this guy.

Gaines averaged more turnovers & fouls than anything else. We really don't need him to score , but have to get someone in here to rebound & defend. I don't know if he's that guy or not

We have plenty of scoring options with Jones, Taylor, Williams x 2 Hall of Famer Walton , Vaughns, etc

I do like Egi's ability to hit the 15ft jumper. Could help spread the defense. He also has the jump roping ability to help out with half time entertainment.
