North Texas coach Dan McCarney often is among the first people to arrive at the Mean Green Athletic Center, especially during the grind of the football season.
Becky Hall often was there to greet him.
The longtime member of the UNT athletic department — known for her smile and caring ways with school officials, donors and fans — died Tuesday. Hall was 59.
The Denton native served as athletic director Rick Villarreal’s secretary for about a decade and was responsible for coordinating travel for the athletic department at the time of her death.
“There are not many people who are in when the coaches are in early in the morning,” McCarney said. “Becky was. I have the utmost respect for what she did for North Texas. Our coaching staff all respected her. She will be greatly missed.”
Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at Roselawn Memorial Park.
