Excellent. I need to make a trip out here in general but especially for one of the road games.

Tony! You hang out with me the whole time you're there and you don't do me the decency of panning just a little to the left to catch my outward expressions of Mean Green Pride!?!?

For shame, man.

Had a great time there last night, me and the Mrs. grabbed bar seats right between the two TVs. It was GLORIOUS, and that was before watching the team pour 55 on USM.

Classless.

Agreed. When did this even start? Can we not just cheer the team on and show a little class.

I mean UNT was kind of throwing a slow pitch right over the plate when they put that gap in the song, kind of like the UNT Art sign..

Yes, please stop whining about cursing. I spent some time at a college down in Baton Rouge that some of you may recognize. I can assure you that you couldn't sit within a stone's throw of the student section without hearing a naughty word come out of the purple and gold mass. It's college football, not church camp.

Problem is, that doesn't make it right. I hope we are never compared to the fans at LSU. I agree with 90, believe it or not, keep it in the bar and out of the stadium.

Don't bring little kids to bars or student sections. Problem solved.

Or take them to the much more family friendly confines that is the official watching location of Hooters.

Who happens to not actually show the games.

We should never be like LSU except for all those times that we totally want to be like LSU.

I remember Candlestick Park being one of the most rough and tumble, drunken shitshows in all of major league baseball when I was a kid. They hadn't yet stopped selling beer after the 7th inning, they allowed fans to bring their own alcohol in, no such thing as a smoking ban, and lord knows what other substances were going on in (and under) the bleachers.

So the Giants designated a section of the outfield as the family section. No alcohol, no smoking, no cursing. Any violation of these rules was violation of the license granted on the ticket, and grounds for ejection from the stadium. The fans on both sides of the matter loved it. The families with sensitive children got their own section, the drunks with the left handed cigarettes got theirs.

Let UNT do something similar with the wing section. Turn it into Disneyland North Texas. The alumni side more or less polices itself. Then let the students be students, and be thankful that they actually came into the stadium.

Bars. Whatever. I'll agree.

Student Section. Now, we're on to something... and it's not about little kids. It's about the fight song and how it has stood the test of time as a song that represents our University, yet for some reason, 2012 was the perfect time to alter the song, in an immature way??

I've said it a million times: If you want to inject an expletive into a song, why not 'fly like a MF'n eagle'? Why not, 'Hey baby, I wanna MF'n know if you'll be my MF'n girl.' I don't care. I bring my kids to all of the games and I don't care about the cursing... I can take care of parenting my kids without demanding that no one within earshot cusses. It's going to happen. That's not the point.

Just leave 2 songs alone:

The Fight Song

The Alma Mater

2 songs. That's it. Please!

Don't the cheerleaders wear about the same amount of clothes as hooters girls? Does that make football not so family friendly too?

I mean, Ole Miss still sings the "naughty" version of Hotty Totty and it is very very much part of their tradition. Not quite a MF bomb but I think the tradition argument holds little water.
