  1. Past hour
  2. Where is the 'yawn' react emoji? Lol. Underpaid graphics guy getting in his feelings about his unoriginal design.
  3. @Cooley is the expert on that
  4. I haven't lived in Texas in a long time, so I'm curious how much basketball talent there is in the state, and in DFW in particular. You get used to seeing Chicago-area players (and to a lesser extent players from other major Midwest markets) on rosters all over college hoops. But I always felt like UNT ought to be able to find enough Texas talent to have a few second- or third-tier in-state kids in its rotation every year. Do those players not exist at a deep enough level for that to be true? Granted, high school recruiting means a less in the portal/NIL world.
  5. According to the 24FY financial report, the basketball head coach Salaries, Benefits and Bonuses paid by the University was $847,747. No detail was provided on how that number was divided between the three broad categories. In the same financial report, from 2023 to 2024, Admin Overhead increased by $2,288,882 on a base of $4,083,277 for a 56.56% YoY increase. I have no idea what goes into Admin Overhead, but we now have $6.4M going into that bucket. If I'm looking for money to spend, I'd look there.
  6. Loosing sucks, but no worries, he wasn't picked.
  7. Of all the hires we could have made, this is one of them. It feels iike the most okayest hire. Like best of the bargain bin. I had hoped after our recent Bball success they would be making a bigger investment into it, but will give my support for now.
  8. Agreed. You can think they were geniuses in setting seeding, but I doubt that.
  9. I admittedly have only watched one game, but I hope he can bring Arnett with him. 6'9" forward who really hustled during the game I watched against Youngstown State. And maybe Stevenson.
  10. Plona was named WKU's new coach prior to this past season. Went 17-15 in year one after serving as an assistant to Steve Lutz, current Okie St. HC, for one season. South Plains coach you are referencing is Steve Green. He became an assistant at Tech this past year after compiling a career record of 706-192 and 552-152 at South Plains where he became their HC after the 2000 season
  11. Today
  12. Because, I surmise much like the UH boards, he's not welcome at the family table.
  13. I don't want to come off as exaggerant, but I believe this is the most important hire in the history of UNT athletics. I hope Jared knew what he was doing.
  14. Channel 4 announced the new coach this morning
  15. 100%. The NIT has been largely competitive. The NCAAT hasn't been. From the S16 to F4 there were 4 competitive games. 8 of those games were decided by 7 or more points. 6 were 10+ point beatings. The TV people will love this year's tournament. Fans, not so much. Very chalky and noncompetitive.
  16. Everything I read suggests this guy is both a tireless and successful recruiter. In the Age of Annual Rebuild, that is vital. This guy sounds like a very good fit.
  17. Uh....no. We're still 24-12, 7-5 in league play. Coach Delong is by far, the best thing to ever happen to NT Softball. So, no.
  18. None of us have a clue how this will turn out, but I am pretty happy with this hire. Glad we got someone with experience running a relatively successful mid-major program in the current transfer happy climate.
  19. I looked online and was also reminded that Rice football won an outright conference championship (CUSA) in 2008. Not bad! I don't think their basketball teams have won much of anything as long as I can remember though.
  20. Might want to put the new boss' name.

  21. I'm not sure kids went out of state to win as much as they went out of state to places that cared. At many/most Texas localities, they don't even really get into basketball season until football season is over. Not just college football, but pro too! Why stay in Texas when you could goto Kansas or whatever, and be the big man on campus?
  22. But is a final four consisting of all the 1-seeds really any better? This tournament honestly kinda sucked this season. I’ve preferred the NIT games a lot more, but maybe that’s just me.
  23. https://meangreensports.com/news/2025/3/30/mens-golf-mean-green-hosting-maridoe-intercollegiate Looking for a solid outing this week at our home course. Let's go low and take home some hardware against some of the top teams in college golf! GMG
  24. For sure…that’s a long list of great players. I think that also played into wanting Texas teams to win to show kids they didn’t have to go out of state to win. This is a moot point nowadays. I couldn’t tell you how many TT of UH players are from Texas.
  25. Already ready to renew season tickets. Let’s get it
