Exactly this and I'm betting that's why there's no videos on social media except what the school puts out. I'd imagine there was a short list of media personnel allowed in at the spring game with the agreement that no video would be put out. No set public depth chart also means other schools can't come in and recruit the top of your depth chart. All I've seen is posts with basic written information.

I'm right there with you. For too long UNT has only pretended to be a Div. 1 program. I am on the fence at this late date to renew my FB season tickets. Luncheon-gate really took the wind out of my sails and if there was any doubt in my mind that this school doesn't give two shits about athletics, that confirmed it. From an outsider, it doesn't appear Jared does, or is doing anything to advance our cause. Just an obligatory, recorded PSA during basketball games re. NIL while we continue to lag behind other American conference mates. In my mind, UNT just caters to the music, teacher and DEI crowd while giving athletics short shrift. Way back when, I chose UNT over UTD because of the commitment to play division one football. I felt I would get the total college experience. I question that commitment now. Someone prove me wrong.

Yep, lots of teams this year, if not most teams. This is basically the year the spring game died. Matt Rhule and others were saying spring games had essentially turned into exhibitions for other teams to steal their players via the transfer portal.

UT didn't have a spring game either, if memory serves.

Did anyone go to the open practice on March 29th? It was not marketed at all, or I fell off the email marketing list some how (I could see both happening with UNT). Someone I know close to athletics said we specially "we're not having a spring game this year.". Seems like that is usually a hallmark of FBS programs. Maybe we have nothing worth showcasing? They did send an email asking for my Club Tix money. Definitely didn't fall off that email marketing list!

It all shifted after Simon got called out for leaving first base early. She made it to 3rd on an error at second base. We went from 1 out with a runner at 3rd to 2 out with nobody on base. Down 2-0 at the time so it was a huge call.

I'm with NT80. It was the exact same when Coach Fry left. The main difference is that we've had few coaches since that anyone else would want. It is different now that the players leave too. Root for the name on the front of the jersey. Give to the scholarship fund. That way they only get what they've always gotten and they have to stay to get any more. And really enjoy the good years. They have always been hard to come by.

Rack up some Ws in these next two homestands.....

Series win against first place team at their place is great. However, the team completely destructed in the last game, total loss of composure. Once again, never use Savage as a late reliever.

I wasn't at the game so I cannot read the body language based on the very little that they showed of the UNT dugout, but it just felt like we had packed it in after yesterday's win. We got run ruled 8-0 off of a ton of errors.

I'll take the series win and move on to the next. Just not our day.

Can't believe that none of their own fans (many who are senior citizens) don't complain about that racket.

Miss Anneca kept us in this game for a while....but had no run support. Some great plays in the field by Kailyn and Cierra. Had some near misses. Maddie came close to homering. Ausha Moore send numerous long blasts....that were just foul. Likely gonna lose today....but we showed we can play and beat these FAU gals. Go Mean Green!

Had two on in the first but failed to score. I must say that I am not a fan of the sac bunt with one out and runners at first and second. Just feel like we are giving up an out when it isn’t needed early in the game. A base hit should score a run. Now we are down 2-0 in the top of the 5th and that God awful music is still being played constantly.

Oh, I think it's both poaching from other schools, and players selling themselves to highest bidders. There should be both money caps and contract time restrictions. This constant free-market is what is driving coaches and fans crazy!

Collectives are not what the NIL intended. Salaries are not what the NIL intended. The intent was to allow the players to earn money off their name, image and likeness. Salaries don’t do this. The funny thing is that most of these kids try to make a dime off of selling clothing with their name and number. Sorry, but I’m not buying a sweatshirt with a kid’s name and number when there is a 90% chance he won’t be on the team next year. It is a screwed up system thrown together to avoid a lawsuit. As I have stated before, they should either receive from the school a scholarship or a “salary” agreement but not both. Some of these kids have zero interest in attending class or know that they aren’t going to the NFL/NBA, Jason Edwards, and are trying to get as much as they can now. They will blow most of that money and have no education to fall back on. Do they even track academic progress anymore? When was the last time a young man or woman was suspended for grades?

Rather lose in the national championship than be kicked out of my own arena for a luncheon.
