bummed about Chavez Brown, mostly based on the fact that i think he's got a great name

You could say this about any player regardless of experience level. Somebody else said it on a thread here but you can't just have a roster full of experienced guys who are expecting to play. It's a recipe for an unstable locker room.
-
Agreed. His stats don’t tell the story either. He was destroying us on the glass with hustle. Played like a more productive Dello

SUMG started following Jacob Dar Transferring From Rice

Of all of our opponents' players this year......he might have been my favorite. In our game down there, he almost lead them to victory. I think he'd be an instant starter here. https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/jacob-dar

I imagine Thomas would be behind BLo this fall and projected to compete to start the following year. Easy to see why he left, sadly 😢
-
Yeah, by a shitty admin telling them they, and athletics don't matter.
-
Look on the bright side, built in excuses if we have a bad season next year.
-
Maybe he is getting some good NIL money, but you are right. He isn't going to get minutes from Hodge in his first year at a new school. Hodge will need to win from the start to keep boosters that weren't excited about him off his back.

Canzano: Next Pac-12 expansion bite getting a little clarity

lol. SMU is a full member and does get to vote. Revenue is for poverty programs. -
I think Harris had the best shot at starting amongst the two above.
-
Guess he wants to go sit in Morgantown. You know Hodge isn't playing a freshman.
-
Don't see him listed. Is that because he was a walk-on? I think I saw that kid miss two shots total in warm-ups over the years

AAC/Interesting Non-UNT Portal Moves

I would be interested in: Rice C; Caden Powell; 6'10" 220. https://247sports.com/player/caden-powell-46109983/college-323434/ -
I get the overall intent and I'm on board with making it more sane and fair..... ....but wow the details are phenomenally bad. 1. It's unconstitutional without collective bargaining for both athletes and coaches and does nothing to deal with it. 2. Coach salary cap at 10X tuition.....great for SMU and private schools! 3. Conference restricted by timezone - totally "rebuild PAC" oriented. But are we really saying Alabama makes more sense for travel in a conference with Minnesota than Georgia? This could easily about distance.

When it comes to getting locals to support a mid-major football program there's no such thing as a slam dunk. Three strong seasons isn't going to turn people into diehard fans overnight. You have to be a consistent winner for a long time and do creative things to get people to show up instead of watching schools they didn't attend on TV. And you have to win despite your roster being picked clean every year because of NIL.

I haven't kept up with spring practice as much as I would have liked, but at least one of them was gonna start I assumed?

House v. NCAA settlement: Approval awaits in landmark case as judge digs in on roster limits
Schools need to be in the same time zone. Leader of the association to be appointed by POTUS and confirmed by Senate. These are two that I saw that I feel are bad ideas.
