  1. Past hour
  2. Hey, check this out about the dollars available to teams. It is crazy. https://nil-ncaa.com/
  3. Some interesting names. Obviously would love to have Kennedy but Bob Huggins is an interesting name. He is old but has been very successful.
  4. Breaking news! Coach in his 5th season and 2 NCAA tournament appearances makes more than coach in his 2nd season and no tournament appearances. Y'all can't actually be surprised Kennedy makes more, right?
  5. I would hope that Jared asks Ross: "who would you recommend" before he leaves us. But perhaps Ross wants all the assistants for himself at WVU? Maybe he says "go get your own".....
  6. He was name-dropped in the UNM convos. Based on this tweet, however, one cannot be certain how serious it is.
  7. All I hope, any new coach is going to want to select his staff.
  8. Almost twice as much. Crazy, right?
  9. Just curious . . . what argument still remains that college sports is in any way preferable to professional sports?
  10. Olen is 100% someone we should be talking to.
  11. I'm surprised he even interviewed. Unless his agent is using it as leverage to get more money out of UAB.
  12. How was he paid more than Hodge???
  13. North Texas: We All Remember 2023 We also probably remember 2022 and 2024, but we really remember 2023. North Texas has made the NIT four times. North Texas has also made the NIT four times in a row. Before 2022? No NIT’s. Since 2022? NIT every year. In 2022, the Mean Green fell to Virginia in overtime in the second round. In 2023, the Tylor Perry and Kai Huntsberry team won it all before Grant McCasland left for Texas Tech. In 2024, the Mean Green fell to Seton Hall in the second round. Seton Hall went on to win the title. The result is a 10–2 all-time NIT record, a staggering mark. But what else is lurking in North Texas’s past? They won the CBI in 2018. Something about the postseason gets these guys going. More: UNT has won each of the TIAA (Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association), Lone Star Conference, Gulf Coast Conference, Southland Conference, Sun Belt Conference, and Conference USA. UNT’s also belonged to the American (their current home), the Missouri Valley, and the Big West, where—you guessed it—they used to play UC Irvine. Hank Dickenson shared that fact with us today. You’ll hear it from him himself on Monday’s episode of Free Hoops. Read more: https://thebarkingcrow.com/2025-nit-final-four-preview-part-i-the-programs/

  14. Guard Jason Edwards, the Commodores’ leading scorer last season, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per On3. The On3 report said Edwards, who just finished his junior season, will test the NBA Draft process as well. Edwards averaged 17.0 points per game during the 2024-25 season, adding 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals. He was the only member of the Commodores to average more than 11 points per contest. The Parkview, Ga., native shot 43.5 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from three-point range, finishing second on the team behind Tyler Nickel in three-point attempts (184) and three-point shots made (65). Edwards scored at least 20 points in 10 of his 33 games, including a season-best 30 in the Commodores’ win over TCU. Assuming Edwards does not return, he will make another stop on a journey that’s already featured many. The 6-1, 175-pound Edwards redshirted during his first season at Miles College in Alabama in 2021-22, spent 2022-23 at Dodge City Community College in Kansas, and played one season for North Texas of the American Athletic Conference before transferring to Vanderbilt. Edwards is actually the fifth Vanderbilt player to reportedly enter the portal, but only the second who had a significant impact for the Commodores last season. read more: https://www.nashvillepost.com/sports/basketball/vanderbilts-jason-edwards-entering-ncaa-transfer-portal-per-report/article_e34c95ff-f0a6-4f46-8283-68a909dc0200.html

  15. Yaxel turned down millions out of loyalty. It would be sad if his coach left for the money. Especially with the ties he has there. And his contract is $1.3M with a $100k increase every year and Pitino's was $1.2M.
  16. It can be about the money or playing time as long as the money is not too far off. We aren't that close, though. And playing time correlates with $$$ and teams will pay players this coming season. I think players should be able to make money, but am not at all happy with where the sport is headed. I had been wondering what donors would do if a coach benched a player they had spent millions of dollars on?
  17. Yesterday
  18. I doubt he leaves his alma mater unless it was P5.
  19. I am not surprised. Highest bidder .
  20. The Coaching Change guy on X, says that Kennedy is one of two finalists for the UNM job. FWIW
  21. 1] Our basketball coach is getting a $1 million+ per year raise. 2]The employees who were honored didn't schedule the event. 3] The luncheon could/should of been rescheduled 4] If I'm our women's coach I am out the door asap 5] for a university with a good business school we don't know much about good business 6] The decision to hold the luncheon was a failure of leadership at the top , and I don't mean our AD.
  22. Wow. Just read that Jason Edwards, who left us for Vandy..........has entered the portal.
  23. Their identity is defense. For the last several years they've been basically like us...but with better athletes.
  24. It's 100%... Ok, ok...99% about paying players.
